Introduction

This technical note concerns the definitions one may see in SVP/SVET and how they refer to the quantities measured and the quantities that are of interest. Taken from a theoretical standpoint, it complements Technical Note #3 which details the practicalities involved. It seems particularly easy to become confused between these parameters and consequently, misunderstand the exact nature of the measurement and the process involved in turning that measurement into a current or a current density.
