EC-Lab Technical Notes 31: Isolation System IS1 How and why?

Introduction

The IS1 isolation module was designed to allow the use of a channel in floating mode and at the same time use the available auxiliary I/O on the board. If no IS1 is used, then connecting the auxiliary cable to a grounded external device brings the ground of the external device to the channel. The channel board is not floating anymore. This technical note explains how to connect the IS1 and gives an example of its use and application.
