The precision of volume injection is important in stopped-flow investigations and is a key factor for experimental reproducibility. This is critical when studies require highly asymmetric mixing ratios or experiments involving precious reagents. Biologic’s stopped-flow systems (SFM-series) offer outstanding reproducibility of volume delivery, even when using micro-liters of solutions because of the use of independent stepping motor technology. This application note illustrates the precision of volume delivery of the SFM-series of stopped-flows by titrating increasing volumes of dichlorophenolindophenol from 2 to 40 µL into a PBS with excellent linearity using standard syringes and the titration accessory. No hardware reconfiguration is necessary because the independent stepping motors are controlled by the software automatically, making the SFM instruments unique.
