Live Webinar – Working on SECM Data Evaluation with the Software MIRA

Scanning electrochemical microscopy (SECM) generates rich local data, and getting reliable results from it depends on efficient, well-founded evaluation. MIRA is a dedicated software for processing and evaluating SECM data.

Join us for a live tutorial webinar on November 30th at 13:00 CET, where Prof. Dr. Gunther Wittstock, physical chemist at Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg and developer of MIRA, presents selected functions of the software and the thinking behind them.

Why Attend?

Participants will gain practical, hands-on knowledge from the software’s author across three topics:

  1. Productivity tools in MIRA
Automatic detection of file types, handling of multiple data sets, graphical file inventories for paper or PDF output (e.g. for your lab journal), and working in a multiuser environment.
  2. Fitting SECM approach curves in feedback mode
How to work with the software, and the physical rationale behind the proposed approach.
  3. Surface plots for SECM image data
An overview of common plot options, their suitability for particular tasks, and where to take care to preserve data integrity.

Examples are mostly taken from the test datasets supplied with the MIRA installation. If you have a MIRA license or the demo version, you can follow along on your own machine or repeat the steps after the webinar.

Who is it for?
Primarily MIRA users, but also active SECM users and researchers considering MIRA for future SECM work.

Shape the session:
Prof. Wittstock will take user questions and content suggestions into account. If you’d like a specific topic covered, leave a comment when you register, before November 17th. He will address the most requested topics, but may not be able to cover every question.
