The Controlled Environment Sample Holder (CESH) is a parallel plate sample holder dedicated to the electrical characterization of flat material samples in the temperature range between -40 °C and 150 °C.

The CESH comes in two models: In-plane CESH and Through-plane CESH. The “Through-plane” model is dedicated to the measurement of an electrical parameters in a direction perpendicular to that of the plane of the sample, while the “In-plane” model is more dedicated to the measurement of electrical parameters in directions parallel to that of the plane of the sample.

The CESH allows accurate four-point impedance measurements with the MTZ-35 impedance analyzer and also with Bio-Logic potentiostats/galvanostats with the EIS option.

Each CESH model is equipped with two ports for the gas inlet and the outlet for inert or active gas flow.  An oxygen and moisture-sensitive sample can be prepared inside a glove box, placed in the CESH and then installed in the ITS temperature Control System for electrical characterization.
